Biodiversity net gain (BNG) is mandatory from February 2024, all new building projects must achieve a 10% net gain in biodiversity or habitat to help restore nature. This session will explore how developers are creating and improving natural habitats under BNG requirements, and what more needs to be done to reverse nature decline and adapt to the changing planet:
• How will biodiversity and nature considerations play into the Government’s drive to reform planning regulation in the UK?
• How are developers adapting to the new BNG legislation – is it at actual developments or through offsetting land away from the development?
• How big will the compromise need to be between the need to build new homes at a rapid pace and protecting our natural environment?
• What role does adaptation have to play in our planning moving forward?
Don't take our word for it, our visitors speak for themselves...
